Setting a budget for a musician's website

How much does a website cost? This question is significant to all aspiring website owners. Of course the cost varies depending on the amount of time it takes to develop your site - in other words, the more more complicated your site, the more complex the functionality and the more complex the graphic design, the more your can expect to pay. Prices can range from a few hundred pounds for a simple site to thousand of pounds for a large, complicated site developed to corporate standards.

Once you have defined your objectives, written your mission statement and defined your target audience, you need to set a budget for your website. It's important to be realistic. If you are looking for a large site, with complicated functionality, you will be lucky to find someone who will do it for a couple of hundred pounds.

From our experience, it is often the case that clients have very big objectives but a very small budget. If this is the case, talk to us! There are ways around this. For example, it's often a good idea to test the water- ie start small. When you know that your concept is sound and that your website is going to result in increased interest in your music, you can upgrade to a bigger site.

We know what is achievable and what isn't for any given budget and we may be able to suggest compromises that may not result in the website that you originally had in mind, but will meet your objectives and achieve what you want your site to achieve.
